Bring Your Deck
Back to Life.
Sanding, power washing, and premium oil staining for weathered redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated decks. We use Messmer's, Penofin, and Sikkens finishes — the same products the pros use on luxury estates.
Your deck isn't dead. It's thirsty.
That weathered, greyed-out deck in your backyard? Nine times out of ten, it's structurally fine — it just hasn't been properly cleaned and re-stained in years. Colorado's sun, snow, and dry air pull moisture and oils out of wood surprisingly fast, especially on the horizontal surface of a deck.
A full deck restoration costs 15-30% of what replacing the same deck would cost, and when done right, brings the wood back to a condition that looks and performs like new for another 3-5 years.
We specialize in redwood and cedar deck restoration across the Denver metro. Our process is methodical: inspect for structural issues, sand to bare wood where needed, power wash with wood-safe brighteners, neutralize the pH, let it dry, and apply premium oil stain the proper number of coats. No shortcuts.

Real decks, brought back from grey.
Three deck restorations from our portfolio — from weathered to stunning, no replacement required.

Power Wash & Sand
Years of weathering and old finish lifted off with pressure washing and wood brightener. Sanding follows where needed to prep for stain.

Premium Oil Stain
Hand-applied oil stain — Messmer's, Penofin, or Sikkens depending on the look you want. Two coats, properly back-brushed, never rushed.

Restored & Protected
The final result: rich color, proper UV protection, and a finish that'll last 3-5 years before the next maintenance coat is needed.
How we actually restore a deck.
Five stages, properly done. Rushing any of them is why so many deck refinishes fail within a year.
Inspection & Assessment
We walk the deck looking for loose boards, popped nails, rot in joists or posts, and compromised structural connections. Any of those get flagged and repaired before refinishing — there's no point in staining a board that needs to be replaced.

Power Wash
Pressure washing with commercial-grade equipment at wood-safe PSI, using oxalic acid wood brightener to lift embedded dirt, mildew, and old finish. This stage reveals the real condition of the wood underneath years of weathering.

Sand & Prep
After the deck dries, we sand as project scoped, either be certain areas to sand or all or most deck to bare wood. The goal is a uniform surface that will absorb the stain evenly if oil and have a surface that will adapt good if its water based stain.

First Stain Coat
First coat of oil stain is applied into the grain. This is where skill matters — proper technique ensures even penetration..

Second Coat & Walk-Through
After proper dry time, a second coat if needed (will discuss at midpoint of drying and inspect its need's for a second coat.) for rich color and full UV protection. Final inspection together, care and maintenance instructions, and we're done. Deck is typically walkable 24 hours after final coat.

Premium oil stains — we use the pros' choices.
We don't use Home Depot deck stain. These are the three professional-grade oil stains we stock and apply.
UV Plus
Our most-used stain. Deep-penetrating oil with excellent UV blockers, available in semi-transparent and solid color options. The Sequoia Red and Cedar tones look especially good on redwood and cedar decks. Reapplication every 2-3 years.
Red Label
Premium Brazilian rosewood oil with exceptional penetration. Protects against UV and moisture at a level most homeowners never realize is possible. More expensive than Messmer's but outlasts it on high-traffic decks and pool surrounds. Our go-to for redwood.
Cetol SRD / DEK-Finish
The European standard for wood finishes. Semi-transparent or semi-solid options with some of the most consistent color reproduction we've seen. The DEK-Finish product is specifically formulated for horizontal deck boards and holds up to foot traffic better than most.
